I, Vitelloni (1953)
I, Vitelloni is a 1953 Italian comedy romance drama movie directed by Federico Fellini based on a script written by him, Ennio Flaiano, and Tullio Pinelli.
Five young group of friends dream of good fortune as they carry about their lives in a rural Italian village. The leader of the group, Fausto, is a womanizer; Riccardo longs for recognition; Alberto is a lost dreamer; Moraldo dreams about city life; and Leopoldo aspires to be a playwright. Fausto pursues a string of ladies, much to the annoyance of his hopeful wife, while the other four crash from one uninteresting event to another.
Modern Romance(1981)
Albert Brooks directed and starred in Modern Romance, a 1981 romantic comedy movie that he co-wrote with Monica McGowan Johnson. It co-stars Kathryn Harrold and Bruno Kirby.
A film editor splits up with his lover, questioning if he is really in love.
Robert had fallen passionately in love with Mary. Mary fell passionately in love with him too. Given the circumstances, they had no choice but to end their relationship. Barfi! (2013)
Barfi! is a 2013 romantic comedy-drama movie written and directed by Anurag Basu. It marks the first collaboration of Ranbir Kapoor with Basu.
The film is set in Darjeeling and Kolkata in the 1970s and tells the story of Barfi (Ranbir Kapoor), a deaf and mute youngster from Darjeeling, and how he connects with two excellent women, the beautiful Shruti (Illeana D’Cruz) and the autistic Jhilmil (Priyanka Chopra).
Me, Earl and The Dying Girl (2015)
Greg is heading through his senior year of college as quietly as practical, avoiding interactions with others like a plague while secretly filming passionate, strange films with Earl, his lone friend. However, his privacy and friendship are compromised when his mother urges him to make friends with Rachel, a classmate with leukemia.
Ishq (1997)
Having an ensemble cast of Ajay Devgan, Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Kajol, Ishq was directed by Indra Kumar.
Affluent Ranjit Rai and his close and similarly rich buddy, Harbanslal, lie to their children to save them from marrying poor marriages. They convince them to sign a marriage document stating that Ranjit’s son, Ajay, has married Harbanslal’s daughter, Madhu. However, the two Ajay and Madhu are in love with Kajal and Raja, who are poor.
Ranjit and Harbanslal create multiple plans but fail to break up the lovers, eventually giving in to their requests and arranging their engagement. Things become complicated when personal images of Kajal and Raja emerge, and the truth of them is confirmed by nobody but Kajal’s paternal uncle.
The Before Trilogy (1995-2013)
The Before Trilogy is made up of three American romantic films directed by Richard Linklater and featuring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. Beginning with Before Sunrise (1995), and followed by two sequels, Before Sunset (2004) and Before Midnight (2013). Linklater wrote all of the films, including the first with Kim Krizan and the last two with Hawke and Delpy.
On his trip to Vienna, Jesse (Ethan Hawke) from America comes across Celine (Julie Delpy), a French returning student from Paris. After deep conversations that show an astonishing relationship between them, Jesse encourages Celine to go with him off the train in Vienna. Since his trip to the United States leaves the following day while he has little money to pay for accommodation, they walk around the city together, soaking in the sights of Vienna and each other’s company. Their connection becomes stronger throughout the night, making it difficult to go their separate ways in the morning.
Love Aaj Kal (2009)
A comparatively lesser-known Imtiaz Ali film, that has not gained a “cult” following yet.
Love Aaj Kal follows the lives of London-based NRIs Jai Vardhan Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and Meera Pandit (Deepika Padukone) who come across each other and fall in love; she presents him to her family. Shortly after, they decide to separate ways; she wishes to move back to India to fix up historic structures, while he wishes to relocate to America.
Restauranteur Veer Singh (Rishi Kapoor) attempts to get Jai to go after her, much as he did with Harleen Kaur in 1965 India, but Jai goes ahead and finds the Caucasian Jo, while Meera is about to get married to her employer, Vikram Joshi.
500 Days of Summer (2009)
500 Days of Summer is a 2009 romantic comedy-drama movie directed by Marc Webb, from a screenplay written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel.
After it appears that she has finally left his life, Tom Hansen thinks about his relationship with Summer Finn, which lasted just over a year. Tom fell in love at first sight when she came into the greeting card firm where he worked, where she was the new office assistant. Tom quickly discovered that Summer was the lady with whom he wanted to spend his life.
Summer wasn’t interested in relationships or lovers, claiming that real life would always get in the way, but Tom and Summer became more than simply friends. Throughout the ups and downs of Tom and Summer’s supposed relationship, Tom was able to depend on the counsel of his best buddies, McKenzie and Paul. His teenage sister, Rachel, acts as his sanity check. In the end, Tom is the person who must decide whether or not to listen.
About Time (2013)
About Time stars Domhnall Gleeson and Rachel McAdams with Richard Curtis writing and directing the film.
When Tim Lake (Domhnall Gleeson) turns 21, his father (Bill Nighy) reveals an underground truth: the men in the family can move across time. Although he can’t change the past, Tim decides to better his life by finding a girlfriend. He meets Mary (Rachel McAdams), falls in love, and ultimately wins her heart with time travel and a little deceit. However, as Tim’s unusual life develops, he learns that his special gift cannot protect himself along the people he loves from the challenges of everyday life.
Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1994)
Written and Directed by Kundan Shah, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa is about Sunil (Shah Rukh Khan), a dreamer and a loser along with some of his close friends set up a band to play at weddings and other events. Sunil is head over heels in love with Anna (Suchitra Krishnamoorthi), but Anna likes Chris (Deepak Tijori); when Sunil finds out about this, he decides to use all of his skills to keep the couple apart, only to be caught red-handed in Anna’s eyes, who kicks him out of the music band.
He sees an opportunity when Chris’ parents organize his marriage elsewhere, but all hell breaks loose when Sunil discovers that he has failed his exam, requiring him to create a certificate stating that he passed the examination in the view of his parents. Will Sunil be able to do the right thing?
