The trailer for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was released yesterday, and the internet isn’t stopping. The trailer is trending number 1 on YouTube, with over 30 million views currently, but viewers don’t consider it a success as they have different views about it.
Directed by Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 stars Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu in the lead roles, while Rajpal Yadav and Sanjay Mishra appear in pivotal roles. It is the sequel to the hit 2007 film of the same name, based on the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa was directed by Priyadarshan and had an ensemble cast of Vidya Balan, Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Shiney Ahuja, Ameesha Patel, Rasika Joshi, and many more. Over the years, it has become one of the best psychological-horror thrillers and an absolute fan favourite. Because of this, the fans are quite disappointed.

Missing the OG cast
While Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has a good cast, Bhool Bhulaiyaa gave us many memorable characters like Vidya Balan terrified us with her stellar performance and Akshay Kumar with his perfect portrayal of an eccentric yet brilliant psychiatrist. The rest of the veteran cast was just amazing and super funny.

While the predecessor was much more subtle in its approach, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 goes full over the top and seems a bit caricaturish in the process.

Bad visual effects
The shots of flying dhols and twisted feet are enough to tell us that the visual effects in the film are subpar.
Forced Humour
The Bigg Boss and Donald Trump joke feels very forced and cliche. Let’s hope that the other jokes in the film aren’t like that.
Horror cliches
So far, the film offers nothing new, and functions on just popular horror movie tropes -like Black magic, a huge old mansion, a spooky closed room with an even more spooky door, the eventual opening of it by a person who doesn’t believe in the supernatural and how things take a turn from that moment.
Phew! The magic of Shreya Ghoshal’s and Neeraj Shridhar’s voices is still there.
Listening to Shreya Ghoshal and Neeraj Shridhar singing Ami Je Tomar and the title track gives all the nostalgic feelings.
In a nutshell, people are criticizing the trailer for its cliches and are missing the original cast. Looking forward to how the film turns out to be.
